LAMARRE, Rodney
2023-11-16
22 August 1959 – 16 November 2023
Peacefully and with dignity, Rod passed away in the presence of his precious family due to complications related to colorectal cancer. He leaves to mourn his loving and caring spouse of 38 years, Joanne, his much-loved and cherished sons, Justin (Jem) and Zachary. He is also survived by his mother Mary (predeceased by his father Robert), siblings Trina, Zen (Julie), Cory and Matthew as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
Rod will be remembered by his many colleagues during his work life at Biltmore Chesterfield, Toshiba and Tech-Craft. He spent his final years at Pratt & Whitney Canada in Assembly & Test, as well as in Liquid Metal & Recycling. His work ethic, integrity and humility were a big part of his personality and character.
An avid outdoorsman and sports fan, his favorite pastimes were golf, camping, hitting the road and travelling abroad. He always enjoyed watching a good hockey or football game with his favorite people.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, 03 December 2023 between 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM, followed by a service in the chapel at the following location:

Farewell Rodney , you have served your time on this Earth and now you rest in sweet peace. My memory of us since we met at work brings warm tears. Your jokes, your naughty humor, the long strides you took when you walked, which made me run to keep up with you. Most of all, you were upbeat, with a spring in your step, looking forward always for those simple joys?.another day, another round of golf, another crossword. I am sorry for the suffering you had to bear in this life, and I am sure that you endured it with your characteristic grace and composure. To that perennial question, ?Why do bad things happen to good people??, I remember you once said that God never promised us anything. He only showed us the satisfaction in being good. You have been good. You have been brave. I hope that Joanne and the rest of your family will take comfort in the memories you created together and will find peace in knowing that your spirit will live on in their hearts forever. Goodbye, my friend. May your soul now rest in love and light forevermore.
