Salaberry Hall

It is sometimes referred to as « mortuary wake », «visiting hours » or« lying in state ».  A time of visitation gives the opportunity to family and friends to support each other in their grief.

The lying state helps the mourning family to acknowledge the reality of death.  It also gives a chance for the people to say their farewells to the deceased. When family and friends gather at the funeral home, they can share their memories of the deceased person. It allows people to pay their condolences to the mourning family.
