FURLONG, Timothy (Timmy)
2023-10-11

(1955-2023)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Timothy (Timmy) Bernard Furlong; the loving son of Evelyn and the late Terry Furlong. Timmy was born on January 15, 1955 and passed away on October 11, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer. He will always remain in the heart of his wife Kim Lampitt, his sons Brad and Derrick, his stepdaughters’ Krystle (Shaun), Sandra (Jason), Amanda (Braydon) and grandsons Ryder and Carter. His memory will always live on in his surviving siblings and their partners Terry (Pat), Marlene (Rainer) and Danny (Birgit). Predeceased by first wife Anne Bilodeau, his brother William and sister Dorothy. Also remembered by numerous extended family members and many friends. Timmy was proud to be raised in Pointe St. Charles, and proud of the life he created in Chateauguay.

Tim, from a very young age, contributed to the life of the community where he was living. His volunteerism included, but is not limited to the following: coached Leo’s boys, President at James Lyng High School, President of Chateauguay Little League, culminating with the privilege of being Grand Marshall of Chateauguay Irish Parade in 2013. He was a proud member of Erin Sports Association and acted as President for 11 years. In 2022 he was awarded the Community Involvement award from St. Patrick’s Society. He thoroughly enjoyed his time as an active member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors Local 89. In 2023, he was honoured when named by the United Irish Societies to be Grand Marshall of the Montreal St. Patrick’s Day parade.

Everyone that knew Timmy knew he was quick to laugh and just as quick to cry. He had a heart of gold and befriended everyone. If someone needed something, he was there. Timmy’s personality filled a room – his laugh was hard to miss. Timmy’s love of golfing allowed him to meet many new friends and enjoy a new chapter in his retired life. The family would like to thank the excellent staff at Anna-Laberge Hospital for the great care they took of Timmy. The family would like to thank everyone for the outpouring love and support during this difficult time. While we wish we could host everyone, due to a limited capacity the family will be having a private reception following the church.

Visitation will be at:
